The overland tour will cover an ancient tropical rainforest, Taman Negara, with endangered tigers, elephants, tapirs, medicinal and poisonous plants, and the elusive aphrodisiacs. Scattered colonies of aborigines. Cameron Highlands is a hill resort with large tea plantations and farmlands.

Your day, step by step

Day 1

Kuala Lumpur

Transportation at Taman Negara National Park. Day 01 - Kuala Lumpur - Taman Negara 1st Day Drive time is 3 1/2 hours per way. 7 am Depart for the rainforest, Taman Negara. Enroute bonus stop at the ioconic Batu Caves. Climb 272 steps into temple of Hindu Deity honored during festivals. Ladies to cover knees and shoulders. Taman Negara is an ancient rainforest with endangered tigers, elephants, tapirs...etc 14,000 flowering plants, 300 bird species... On arrival at Kuala Tahan, join Nature Guide rapids shooting to an aborigine village to see fire making and blowpipe demonstration the native way. You can partake in the activities. The rainforest is their supermarket. Trek to a virgin rainforest waterfalls for a cool dip - a therapeutic stress reliever. Complimentary local lunch at Floating Cafe. Check in to hotel Free and easy. 8pm Join Nature Guide for the Night Jungle walk to look for smaller animals as in mouse deer, civet cats, slow loris etc and watch nocturnal animals come for their salt lick.

Day 2

Kuala Lumpur

Hiking at Batu Caves. Day 02 Taman Negara 2nd Day 8am Jungle trek with Nature Guide to the viewpoint to catch a glimpse of Malaysia's highest mountain - Gunung Tahan - 7175 feet (2187 meters) in height. Nature Guide will belt out facts and taboos of Taman Negara and will explain the many plants especially the medicinal and poisonous ones, not forgetting the elusive aphrodisiacs. Return to hotel. Free and easy. 8pm Join Nature Guide for the Night River Cruise. Look out for black panthers, wild boar, mouse deer etc.. come for their water intake. Enjoy the night ambience sdeated on a boat deep in an ancient rainforest. A very rare encounter indeed ! Bring torch with extra batteries.

Day 3

Kuala Lumpur

Sightseeing at Taman Negara National Park. Day 03 Taman Negara - Cameron Highlands (Recommended hotel Camerons Resort). 7am Depart for Cameron Highlands - hill resort with large tea plantations, and farmlands. Sip tea perched on an elevated tea cafe and watch the rolling hills below. Photo shoots aplenty. Visit Butterfly Farm, Cactus Gardens, Kea Farm, Strawberry Farm, Vegetable markets. Check in to hotel. Free and easy. 7pm Dinner would be the popular HOT POT - it augurs well witrh the cool weather. Bring sweaters as nights are cold.

Day 4

Kuala Lumpur

Boating at Taman Negara National Park. Day 04 Cameron Highlands - Penang Island (Recommended hotel Golden Sands @ Batu Feringghi) 8am Depart for Penang - a major tourist destination. Bonus stop Orangutan Island (Subject to availability). At Penang Island visit Clan Jetties, Sleeping Buddha, Fort Cornwallis, drive through Georgetown - UNESCO listed city. Adjourn for lunch at a food court - a variety of local dishes and a must experience. Drop off at your hotel. End of program.
