The Experience
What your day looks like
First, we will take you to the Madagascar tropical rainforest in the Andasibe National Park, to see different kinds of lemurs (the smallest lemur in the world and the biggest one). Not only will you see lemurs, but you will also discover lizards, birds, and the most iconic plant of Andasibe. Next, this trip will lead you to the baobab avenue and also to see the saw-toothed mountain of Madagascar, "Tsingy of Bemaraha," Protected by UNESCO. We will take a traditional canoe to go down the river Bekopaka to see the tsingy. This trip will give you the chance to visit the caves of Bekopaka and meet the local people in the fishermen's village.

Welcome to Madagascar! Our guide will meet you at the airport and will take you to the hotel. If you arrive early on the day, contact us at Fosa Travel for information on any attraction that you can visit in town.

Day 2
Antananarivo
Eco Tour at Peyrieras Reptile Reserve. Antananarivo - Andasibe: Day two sets off heading east, where you’ll quickly get up close and personal with the island’s vibrant array of wildlife. Chameleons, lizards, frogs, snakes, butterflies, and Sifaka Lemurs are only a short list of creatures you’ll see first-hand at the Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic Reserve. With so many more species of lemur, like Indri and ring-tailed, we will next head farther out to Andasibe, the world-renowned lemur-watching paradise.

Wildlife & Eco Tourism. Parc Mitsinjo: In the afternoon, we will visit Parc Mitsinjo, where you can find chameleons, snakes, birds and most importantly the largest lemur species, Indri.

Hiking. Hike at Night: When night falls, perhaps your true inner explorer can come alive as we’ll hike through the forest to catch a glimpse of night lemurs and other nocturnal friends.

Day 3
Andasibe
Eco Tour at Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Andasibe: We can’t see it all in just one day, though. Spend hours more wandering through Andasibe National Park on Day 3. Unique, rare, and endangered all describe the species of animals you’ll see here, including 11 different lemur species.

Wildlife & Eco Tourism. Lemurs Island and Crocodile Park: In the afternoon, the wildlife adventure continues as we visit Lemurs Island and Crocodile Park. There, you’ll walk among flora and fauna unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Day 4
Antsirabe
Transportation: After a couple of days in nature, Day 4 combines travel and tour. We will depart Andasibe early in the morning, heading inland 7.5 hours through beautiful highlands and valleys to the colourful and classic city of Antsirabe. The French called it ‘The city of water’ for its thermal springs.

Day 5
Morondava
Transportation Antsirabe - Morondava: Famous for its river delta, and but even more for Baobab trees, our excursion next heads to Morondava on the west coast of Madagascar. We’ll leave early in the morning for the 10-hour drive. Midway, we’ll stop for lunch at Miandrivazo, which is considered the hottest place in Madagascar.

Morondava
Boating at Morondava River. Morondava: Down the river delta of Morondava on the morning of Day 6, we’ll sail through the mangroves and visit the fishermen's village.

Leisure. Free afternoon: With a free afternoon, you can long along and relax on the beach, enjoy the facilities in the hotel or walk around the city before we travel to Bekopaka on the next day.

Day 7
Bekopaka
Boating. Morondava - Bekopaka: We will continue our trip to Bekopaka, a small village located next to the Bemaraha National Park. During the trip, we will cross 2 rivers by little ferry, the Tsiribihina River and the Manambolo River.

Day 8
Bekopaka
Boating at Manambolo River. Bekopaka: The visit of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park start here. We will take a boat to visit the Gorge of Manambolo, a river with wonderful landscape. After that we will start our journey to visit the small tsingy.

Day 9
Antananarivo
Transportation: A full-day visit to the Big Tsingy. Around a 1-hour drive from the hotel.

Hiking at Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. Bekopaka: We will start our trek at the Big Tsingy. There are a few circuits to visit, depending on your fitness level; the trek can last for 5 hours.

Morondava
Eco Tour at Kirindy Forest. Bekopaka - Morondava: We will leave Bekopaka in the morning. Before going back to Morondava, we will stop at Kirindy Forest and take a night walk to find the night lemurs and other nocturnal species. We will stay overnight at a hotel near Kirindy Forest.

Eco Tour at Kirindy Forest. Morondava: In the morning, we will visit Kirindy Forest again, we’ll see Fosa, Lemurs, and dozens of other animal species.

Day 12
Antananarivo
Transportation Morondava - Antsirabe: After a restful night’s sleep at one of Morondava’s cozy hotels, our tour will return to Antsirabe on the 12th day, approximately a 10 hour trip. Along the way, view the landscape from seaside to highland looking out the window of the air-conditioned bus. Midway, we’ll stop for lunch at Miandrivazo, which is considered the hottest place in Madagascar. Upon arrival, the evening of day seven is about rest, so settle in to your comfy hotel in Antsirabe.

Day 13
Antananarivo
Transportation: The final leg of our journey sends us back to the city where it all began. After a 3.5-hour drive through beautiful and wavy central highlands.

Sightseeing at Rova of Antananarivo. Antsirabe - Antananarivo: We’ll have the day to tour the famous sites of Antananarivo. Highlights of the tour on Day 13 include the Queen’s Palace, Anosy Lake, as well as the markets and French Colonial buildings of Independence Avenue. While the island is ripe with natural beauty, an extra special tour connects you to Antananarivo’s architecture and history at the oldest train station in town, Gare Soarano.
