Your day, step by step

Day 1

Nairobi

Sightseeing at Great Rift Valley, Kenya. Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi by the team. After a short safari briefing, depart for the Masai Mara via the scenic Great Rift Valley with a stopover at the viewpoint for photography and stretching. Continue the drive towards the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge.

Wildlife Safari. After check-in and some relaxation, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Masai Mara is famous for its exceptional wildlife sightings, including lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, cheetahs, and many other animals. The vast open plains also offer excellent photography opportunities and stunning African sunset views.

Wildlife Safari. After breakfast at the lodge, depart with packed lunch boxes for a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. This gives you enough time to explore different parts of the reserve and maximize wildlife viewing opportunities. You will search for the Big Five while also enjoying sightings of wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Depending on the season, you may also witness the famous Great Migration, one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles. Your guide will take you to some of the best wildlife viewing areas, including the Mara River region.

What to Bring

Carry comfortable light clothing for daytime and a light jacket or sweater for early morning and evening game drives. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, insect repellent, camera, binoculars, and personal toiletries. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Carry your passport or identification documents during the safari. Weather in Masai Mara can change, especially during rainy seasons, so a waterproof jacket is advisable. Travelers are advised to book flights arriving early enough on the safari start date or arrive in Nairobi a day before the safari begins.

Restrictions

This tour is not recommended for travelers with serious mobility, heart, or back conditions due to bumpy safari roads. No special certification is required to participate. Travelers should be able to sit for extended periods during road transfers and game drives.

Meeting & Pickup

This safari begins with pick-up from hotels, residences, or the airport within Nairobi at no extra cost. The team will contact travelers before the safari to confirm the exact pick-up time and location. Airport pick-up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) or Wilson Airport can also be arranged upon arrival.
