The Experience

What your day looks like

If you are looking for the soul of Florence, you’ll find it in the vibrant chaos of the market and the warmth of our kitchen. This isn't just a cooking class; it’s a journey through the "Italian ritual." Designed for families, couples, and solo travelers, our experience connects people through the universal language of food. From selecting seasonal produce at historic stalls to the final "Cin-Cin!" around the table, you will live a day in the life of a local chef. Discover why Italian cuisine is a global treasure and learn to recreate its magic back home. From Market Stalls to Secret Ingredients The heartbeat of Florence is the Central Market. Follow our chefs through a sensory sea of colors and aromas as you learn the art of the spesa (Italian food shopping). You’ll meet the local butchers and greengrocers, tasting regional specialties as you go. This is where the magic begins: understanding that a UNESCO-worthy dish starts with the quality of the raw materials and the passion of the people who produce them. Master the Legend: Nonna’s Sunday Lasagna Step into our kitchen and breathe in the scent of simmering ragù. This is a 100% hands-on masterclass where you become the protagonist. Under the guidance of our expert chefs, you’ll knead golden pasta dough by hand and master the art of the velvety béchamel sauce. While your Lasagna bakes to bubbly perfection, you’ll dive into the world of Italian dolci, whipping up a cloud-like Tiramisù using traditional techniques. It’s messy, it’s fun, and it’s authentically Italian. The Family Table: Wine, Laughter, and Legacy In Italy, the best memories are made around the table. Once the cooking is done, gather with your small group to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Savor your handmade lasagna paired with boutique Chianti wines in a festive, cozy atmosphere. To celebrate your new skills, you’ll participate in a fun "graduation" ceremony and receive an official certificate. We won't let the story end there: you’ll also receive our digital recipe booklet, a collection of family secrets that will allow you to bring a piece of Florence back to your own kitchen.

Overall this class was great! The chef walked us through the market and educated us on lots of Italian foods and traditions. The cooking class itself was very informative and upbeat. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because one of the couples in the class had a toddler with them. The child was fussy and so loud that it was distracting and hard to hear the chef when as he was very disruptive. I say yes to the class as long as there are no small children there to ruin an amazing experience.

Absolutely loved it! Tomasso was fabulous. We learned so much and can’t wait to get home and make some of these dishes in our own kitchen. As a travel advisor, I like to experience activities first hand whenever possible, and this one hit it out of the park. I’ll be including it with every Florence trip moving forward. Bravo Tomasso!
