The Experience
What your day looks like
We drive north along the coastal road, on route stop to overlook Megiddo. We then drive through the Jordan Valley, stopping at the Baptismal site on the Jordan River. Ascend to the Golan Heights with an overview from Hammat Gader of the triangular border with Syria, Jordan, and Israel. Onwards to the city of Katzrin, the Talmudic capital of the Golan. Visit the ancient synagogue of Katzrin. Ascend Mt. Bental, overlook Kuneitra Valley and stop at former Syrian fortification. The Syrian bunkers, base and trenches were captured by the Israeli's in the Six Day War of 1967. From here we can see how close Syria is as we look down on the Syrian city of Kuneitra just beyond the Canadian UN forces which have protected this peaceful border since the cease fire in 1974. Return back to your hotel.
