As a travel advisor, I try to do a food tour in every country I visit. They are always different and the guides can make or break an experience. Our guide, Sean, was interesting, funny, friendly and knowledgeable. We started with a cold local beer and what my husband called the freshest oyster ever! I opted for the delicious seafood chowder. Next up, a complete meal of traditional, what Americans call, “corned beef and cabbage.” Very different than in the USA! That and a cold Smithwicks hit the spot. Dessert was a local ice cream shop and we topped our tour off with Irish coffee making at a beautiful Victorian bar. Sean explained the history of the different eating establishments and as we walked through the park, the significance of John F. Kennedy to the Irish people. Sean shared his stories and insight- I learned so much and enjoyed the food along the way!

I am the travel agent and writing this for my clients. This tour was not as described, for example "taste and experience Irelands rich and diverse range of traditional dishes and local specialties". My clients told me they stopped at 3 locations. 1 stop they received a very small appetizer and a beer. 2nd stop they received a baby Guinness and no food. 3rd stop they received an arancini rice ball and a beer. My clients were so hungry they had to get something to eat afterwards. This should not have cost $300.00, nor should it be called a food tasting. Very disappointed. The 1 star is for the guide who was nice and informative.

Our guide, Conor, was filled with stories of Galway. The three pubs we visited provided great examples of traditional Irish food and drink. Thank you Conor!
