The Experience

What your day looks like

We offer a unique whale watching tour from Ólafsvík. Nowhere else in Iceland is there a better chance to see the biggest whales of the ocean, than along the Snæfellsnes Peninsula coastline: Orcas, Sperm, Humpback, Minke, and Pilot whales plus dolphins and porpoises. The landscape is magnificent around the Glacier and even more so from the sea. The Snæfellsjökull Glacier rises majestically into view from wherever you are on the ocean, competing with the wonderful sight of breaching whales. Svörtuloft, Öndverðarnes, Keflavík, and Skarðsvík are the areas of the National Park coastline we will sail around in search of these magnificent mammals.

This was an absolutely incredible tour, well worth the travel to Ólafsvík from Reykjavik (bonus — it’s an absolutely stunning drive). There were countless orca sightings and we spent most of our time idling in the boat and seeing orca activity from almost every angle. We were worried about the cold but were provided full suits that kept us properly warm. 10/10 recommend. It’s a must do if in Iceland and interested in marine life.
