In 2015, UNESCO recognized Reykjanes as an area of international geological significance and announced it as an official UNESCO Global Geopark. The site is managed with a holistic protection, education, and sustainable development concept. The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal SPA in southwestern Iceland. It is located in a lava field 5 km from Grindavík and in front of Mount Þorbjörn on the Reykjanes Peninsula, in a place favorable for geothermal power, and is supplied by water used in the nearby Svartsengi Geothermal Power Station. Named one of the 25 wonders of the world by National Geographic in 2012, the Blue Lagoon was honored for its unique geothermal seawater. Found nowhere else on earth, this renowned resource is rich in silica, algae, and minerals - the elements that give the lagoon its skin-nourishing powers. With a sauna, steam room, steam cave, mask bar, massage waterfall, and an in-water beverage bar, the lagoon is rich with possibilities for a uniquely unforgettable adventure.

Meeting & Pickup
We offer pickup from the hotels/accommodations within the specified radius. If you are staying outside of the downtown area we kindly ask you to contact us and specify your pick-up point. Your guide will meet you at your chosen pick-up point. Please be ready 15 minutes before to ensure smooth departure. Our vehicles are clearly marked with the "Your Friend in Reykjavik" logo If arriving via port, upon debarkation, exit the cruise ship terminal via the marked passageways which will lead you directly to the parking/taxi area of the cruise terminal. This is a very open and spacious parking lot with a clothing store in the direct vicinity. The local representative will be waiting for you near the tour vehicle which is marked with YOUR FRIEND IN REYKJAVIK. The local representative will be wearing a light-blue jacket and holding a sign with the guest's name. To ensure a smooth departure, we kindly ask all guests to please plan to be at the designated departure location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time.
