What your day looks like
This day trip combines an exciting horseback riding tour in Iceland with one of our most popular tours – the Golden Circle. We begin the day by driving to Eldhestar Riding Center located just outside Hveragerði, where the horseback riding tour takes off. The Icelandic horse is a unique breed, known for its sturdiness and easy temperament, and has gained a legion of fans around the world. The ride lets you take in some of the local sights on horseback, and ends with a light lunch at the farm Vellir. From there we continue our journey to Geysir geothermal area, where the erupting geyser Strokkur is the star of the show. We also visit the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall (Golden Falls) and Thingvellir National Park, with its amazing geology and history. All riding is on excellent riding paths.

What to Bring
Please bring a small waist bag as backpacks cannot be taken on horseback. We recommend wearing good shoes, comfortable pants (riding pants are not necessary), gloves, and a buff.
Restrictions
Meeting & Pickup
Pick up is operated by Eldhestar and is between 08:00 and 08:30AM. You are responsible for being ready and visible in time for your pick up at your designated bus stop or outside your hotel/guesthouse for 08:00AM. The bus can arrive anytime during that time.
