The Experience

What your day looks like

This tale of two towns will take you from a bustling fishing port to simple fishing village. The journey starts in Puerto Iztapa with its charming coconut, almond, and La Ceiba(the national tree of Guatemala) tree-lined civic center. At the pier, local fishermen will share how they weave their Atarrayas (fishing nets) and ready the day's catch for sale. Continuing inland to the village of Buena Vista, you'll enjoy short stops at a sugar cane field, Shrimp Pounds, and a shark factory, farm, and field vistas, as well as a visit to a Guatemalan residence to see tortilla making.
