Attend a cooking workshop where you will learn to make traditional Ghanaian dishes such as Jollof Rice, red-red, and palava sauce, and sample some of Ghana’s most popular foods, gaining recipes that will impress your friends and family for years to come. 2. Visit an African Dance Institute for two exciting hours of a drumming and dancing workshop, where you will learn firsthand African dance forms that incorporate elements of American modern dance with native Ghanaian traditions.

Chale Wote Street Art Festival: In the evening, head out to the Chale Wote Street Art Festival, the biggest arts and cultural festival in West Africa, where artists, musicians, fashion designers, and performers come together, and enjoy spontaneous performances by dancers, drummers, cyclists, skaters, flash mobs, muskets, brass bands, and displays of hiplife and Afropop music; later at night, you can check out some of Accra's hottest nightlife spots.

Kakum National Park: In the morning, visit Kakum National Park to experience one of Africa’s canopy walkways, suspended 100 feet above the forest floor, offering a panoramic view of the flora and fauna in the remaining rainforest. City/Town Tour at Assin Manso. Assin Manso: In the morning, travel to Assin Manso, the burial site of two former slaves from the U.S. and Jamaica, whose remains were re-interred in August 1998 during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day Celebration. You will also visit the “Slave River,” where captured Africans were washed before being confined in the Slave Castles to await shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean.

Sightseeing at Cape Coast Castle. Cape Coast: Visit the Cape Coast and Elmina Slave Castles, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which were two of the departure points for Africans being sent into slavery in the Americas. The castle is also home to the infamous "Door of No Return."

Local Flavor. Typical Ghanaian village: After breakfast, visit a typical Ghanaian village, where you will pay a courtesy call on the Chief and his elders. Participate in a traditional naming ceremony and adopt a Ghanaian name to claim your African identity. In the afternoon, depart for Accra, Ghana’s capital city, and arrive by late afternoon to check into your hotel.
