Salzburg is also one of the most popular set-jetting or movie tourism destinations in the world for one simple reason The Sound of Music. We'll show you sites you'll remember from the silver screen, such as the beautiful Mirabelle Gardens where Julie Andrews and the children were filmed singing Do-Re-Mi. One of the finest preserved medieval old towns in Europe, Criss-crossed with romantic winding shopping streets and venerable market places and adorned with outstanding architectural monuments of the later baroque era. Piazzas and fountains, the stunning Domkirche Cathedral, palaces, pleasure gardens, churches, monasteries and catacombs, confectionaries and patisseries, the oldest restaurant in the continent. And towering above it all, the breathtaking 900-year-old fortress Festung Hohensalzburg: the magnificent edifice that dominates the citys skyline and is itself framed by the spectacular encirclement of mountains stretching into the horizon. Our family of four (kids aged 8 and 11) had an amazing time on our trip to Salzburg! First off, getting to spend a day in Austria was such a unique experience. The city itself is fascinating—not just for fans of musicals, but for anyone who appreciates history and culture. Salzburg’s rich history made it an incredible place to explore and learn together as a family. The icing on the cake was our tour guide, Susan. She was phenomenal—patient, knowledgeable, and engaging. Her guidance truly elevated the experience, making it far more enjoyable and enriching than if we had attempted to navigate the city on our own. 5 stars, without hesitation! We highly recommend Radius Tours. As a bonus, we booked two tours with them during our vacation, and both were absolutely fantastic.

The trip was very nice. The only issue was hearing and understanding the tour guide. I did notice that other tours we came across had audio pieces in their ears with the guide using a headset to communicate. With all of the external noise from other people as well as traffic that might be a good suggestion. Not a reflection at all on the guide as I thought she did great but again circumstances made it very hard to hear at times and therefore hard to understand everything she was trying to inform us of.

Fabulous day trip. Our guide Maxine was excellent—very knowledgeable, loves what she does, was open to what the group wanted to do. She showed us spots we likely wouldn’t have found on our own. Would highly recommend it.

Jeremy was a wonderful guide for our group day trip to Salzburg. His command of its complicated history was amazing. We appreciated his obvious passion for the subject. He was very willing to answer questions. He even researched questions he could not immediately answer. We do highly recommend this tour but STRONGLY suggest clarifying point of departure instructions which were poor at best.

What a beautiful city. WAs a great tour, with lots of ideas of what to do on our free time. Enjoyed meandering through the old city - history and Sound of Music, lol. The trip back wasn't great, but it had nothing to do with the tour operator. The train got stopped for about an hour and a half, then we had to back up, and switch trains to another track. But just another adventure!

We had a wonderful day trip to Salzburg. Our guide was very informative, had a great sense of humor and was helpful with any questions we had. I definitely recommend this tour.
