The Experience
What your day looks like
No doubt our best American tour! We will cover a large area, stopping to visit all major sites in the U.S sector. We will discover the extraordinary actions of the paratroopers in Ste Mere-Eglise and the Airborne Museum. We will also go to Utah beach where landed the U.S 4th Division. During the day we can discuss a lot of subjects about the war (from German occupation to French Resistance) and speak about so many different soldiers’ war stories. After a quick stop at the German Cemetery, we will visit Pointe du Hoc. This German battery attacked by the U.S Rangers will put you right in the atmosphere: the beach, the cliff, the bunkers, the bomb craters... and we will make sure to make a stop at the best-known Bloody Omaha. Four miles long, no picture or movie has yet made it a justice. The second stop for Omaha is the heart-breaking U.S cemetery, for yet another perspective of the beach from the high ground. Your guide will give you time on your own at the end, to either stay longer in the cemetery or save time for the Visitor Center.

Our tour guide David was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of this area and D-Day in particular. He was also very friendly and gave us a lot of great suggestions. He had resource materials and maps for each of us to follow along with. He also included many human interest stories. It was a long day but we enjoyed every minute. I would highly recommend this tour as it also includes the German cemetery which gives another learning opportunity. Outstanding and money well spent! We would never have learned as much doing this on our own.

What a fantastic tour! Gwen, our expert tour guide, was full of knowledge and gave our small group a balanced account of DDay at each of the spots we visited. Utah and Omaha beaches were surreal, as was Pointe du Hoc, and Gwen brought each of these key DDay landmarks to life. We also visited the American Cemetary and after a brief orrientation, were given the opportunity to discover more on our own. Overall, I found the tour to be balanced (learning/experiencing through our guide vs on our own), open (envouraged to ask questions/provide feedback), and efficient. Would highly recommend!

The US Beaches Tour (Normandy Siteseeing Tours) was OUTSTANDING! The pick-up place is easy to find and every detail was communicated with no issues. Our tour guide, Bryce, was extremely knowledgeable and made our experience incredibly special. It was our best day in France! Since we are older nurses, he let us explore more of the medical side of Operation Overlord and learn about the medics and their stories. He let us set the pace but gently kept us on schedule. I would highly recommend this tour and give Bryce a 10/10. You will not be disappointed.
