Aix en Provence Discover the medieval town of Aix en Provence, the city of art. Walking tour of the historic center to see the cathedral, town hall, fountains and provençal market. Tasting of local specialties with your guide. Cassis You will drive to Cassis, a charming port considered as the little Saint Tropez of Provence. Free time to explore the village, relax on the small sandy beach or board on a motorboat for a 45mn cruise in the main creeks of Cassis, a national park listed as world heritage by Unesco for its turquoise water and white cliff. Lunch at leisure in the village. (Not included) Marseille Drive to Marseille city center to admire the old harbor and visit Notre Dame de la Garde basilica, the highest monument of the Phocaean city, a Neo-Byzantine basilica built on top of the hill. From there you will enjoy a panoramic 360° view on the city.

Eric was a fantastic guide through Aix-en-Provence and Cassis. This was the perfect tour for our port day in Marseilles. The itinerary proceeded as planned from the ship to Aix, with a couple of hours walking the town with Eric. He shared interesting facts about the city and the famous artist Cèzanne, then we headed out on the drive to Cassis. Prior to getting to the town of Cassis, Eric took us high upon a hill overlooking the bay of Cassis for the breathtaking views. Given it was January and VERY cold, we even saw hail on the ground at this high elevation. Once we arrived in town, Eric gave us time to find lunch on our own and even a little time for shopping. On the return trip to the ship, Eric provided a tour and commentary though his hometown, Marseilles. It was the best day with Eric - and I highly recommend this tour.

This excursion to Aix-en-Provence and Cassis was one of the highlights of our trip! Jean-Gabrielle was the best! He was very knowledgeable about the history and made the day interesting and fun! The day was perfect snd I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone wanting a mix of history and breathtaking scenery!
