What your day looks like
Pick-up is at 9:30 AM in front of the Tourist Office of the Reims train station in the outside forecourt. Your Guide will have a Mercedes minivan parked in front of the Tourist Office to the right as you exit the main entrance of the station. Your day will start by a panoramic tour of the city of Reims with its World Famous Great Champagne Houses and its Reims Cathedral. In the heart of the Champagne’s Vineyards, you will be welcomed at a beautiful Champagne Grower's Family Estate. More than 4000 family winemakers contribute to the prestige of Champagne, keeping the Tradition alive from generation to generation with a common goal: the true expression of Champagne. On the way to Epernay, we take you to the Marne River Valley, we'll pause in picture-perfect vineyards then go meet a prestigious personality of the area: Dom Pérignon, Champagne Wine's Spiritual Father. He contributed heavily to the fame of Champagne and is now buried in the church of the former Benedictine Abbey, in the charming hillside village of Hautvillers. Pass through the world famous Avenue de Champagne in Epernay. Located in the beating heart of Epernay, the town internationally known as the "Capital of Champagne", its stunning main street features a half-mile long exhibition of opulent mansions housing some of the most illustrious "Maisons de Champagne": Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Pol Roger, Mercier, etc. Lunch at a local restaurant: Enjoy a convivial lunch at a local restaurant including a main course. The lovely afternoon will finish with a second tasting of different Champagne wines at a local domain. Before returning to Reims, experiment a third family estate. What travelers are saying
Outstanding! Learned so much and our guide Radamus was fantastic!!
Outstanding tour! Our guide Radamus was great, so knowledgeable!
Pierre was the best! We enjoyed hearing his stories and perspectives as a local who was born and raised in the region. He knows a lot about champagne and showed us some incredible small wineries that have been family-run for many generations. Lunch was delicious. We loved the tour and would do it again!
This was a great tour and Pierre was the best! He was extremely knowledgeable, professionally and made the tour a lot of fun - he was a real dear.
The tour was outstanding. Pommery Estate is not only extraordinary as a Champagne house, but contains beautiful works of art. Informative and beautiful. Our guide, Pierre was knowledgeable and patient. We joined the group late as we were dropped off at the wrong Tourism Office. We were traveling with our 2 year old granddaughter and at no time did he make us feel we were an inconvenience. This tour is an outstanding way to spend time in the French countryside. Breathtaking views. He mixed the commentary with local knowledge and flavour as well as information about the region and champagne itself. He incorporated some very special moments by adding small detours and giving us some bucket list worthy surprises. Pierre made our day. This tour is worth the money and more.
Our tour with Rodemus exceeded our expectations. He was so knowledgeable and interesting. We visited a small family run champagne house, met the winemaker, learned all about the process and then tasted some of the best champagne I’ve ever had. In addition, the countryside was beautiful and Rodemus did a great job of explaining the history and topography.
The guide Rafael was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable. The tour itself was a little too long for the two houses we visited. Lunch was more appetizers than lunch and we were disappointed that we didn't have time in the charming town to visit the shops. On the whole we had a good time, and again Rafael was fabulous.
