What your day looks like
Get your own amethyst on top of the hill with a stunning view of Lappish nature, and enjoy a cup of hot blueberry juice with a Lappish reindeer meat sandwich as you descend back down with the snowcat. The sustainable Lampivaara Amethyst mine is possibly the only gemstone mine in the world that welcomes visitors. The Amythist mine is located on the top of the hill. The owner tells the story about the mine and describes the process of mining. After the introduction, you will go upper to dig up the lucky amethyst for yourself, which has waited 2000 million years to be found. Of course, you will be provided with special equipment and a snowcat to lift you on the hill. During the midwinter time, when a veil of darkness covers Lapland, you may even see the Northern Lights in the middle of the day.

Restrictions
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by adults paying the full price. Infant under 2 is complimentary.
Meeting & Pickup
Please kindly take note that we do not provide pick up and drop off for this tour. Meeting point is our office in city center (Maakuntakatu 29-31, in front of Rosso restaurant). We will bring you back there after the tour. Many thanks for your kind understanding.
