Guests can enjoy homegrown vegetables, pickles, and preserves while learning about sustainable living and traditional Faroese cuisine. Maud often hosts alongside her husband, Fríðrik, a sailor, and invites visitors to connect over meals in their cozy living room, experiencing Heimablídni, Faroese warmth and hospitality in Nólsoy.

Meet your host Maud at her grandparents' traditional Faroese home in Nólsoy, only a 3–4 minute walk from the ferry - perfect for travelers arriving from Tórshavn. Begin your Faroese culinary adventure with a welcome drink and snack while discussing the seasonal menu. In summer, stroll through Maud’s vegetable garden and discover how she grows produce sustainably. Then, join her in the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class, preparing a traditional Faroese meal and dessert using fresh, local ingredients. Enjoy a 3-course meal featuring vegetables from her garden, fish from local fishermen or meat from Faroese farmers, all prepared with a touch of international influence. Sustainability, authentic flavors, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere are at the heart of Maud’s cooking. Optional wine or beer add-on available. Note 1: Your Faroese cooking class is scheduled around ferry arrivals in Nólsoy for your convenience. Your host’s home is a short 3-minute walk from the terminal, with classes starting at 1:00 pm on Saturdays and 1:30 pm on Sundays. Because Maud works at the elementary school, she only hosts lunch experiences on weekends.
