Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Experience the grandeur and magnificence of London’s royal quarter with a guided walk around its most stunning monuments and buildings, followed by an authentic afternoon tea in Royal surroundings. Steeped in history and intrigue, allow your curiosity to be awakened as you discover St James’ Palace, Buckingham Palace, and the procession, the Mall, before riding a London bus to the breathtaking Royal Albert Hall. Get to the heart of aristocratic London, exploring the quiet corners and higgledy-piggledy streets of St James’ and discover its active, Tudor palace - favourite of the Royal Family - where the King was proclaimed monarch. Take in the bear-skin hats of the royal guard at Buckingham Palace, the main royal residence in London, and, on Changing of the Guard mornings, witness the inspection of the Old Guard at St James Palace, an essential element of this historic ceremony. See where the King lives and learn the true story of the development of the Royal residences. Follow in the steps of the monarch, up Constitution Hill, to the home and monument of Britain’s great general and war hero, the Duke of Wellington. Behave like the British and hop onto an iconic, red London bus for a short ride to the Royal Albert Hall, the city’s premier, historic concert hall. Step into beautiful Kensington Gardens and hear the romantic story behind the Royal Albert Memorial. Ready for refreshment, head for an authentic afternoon tea in the 300 year old Orangery, created by Queen Anne in 1704. Refurbished in 2024, the building sits proudly in the Royal grounds and your private table awaits. Enjoy sandwiches, scones and cakes with a choice of over a dozen teas. Your guide will explain the origins of the tea ceremony and why it is the mainstay of British social etiquette.
