Enjoy a relaxing and scenic punting tour along the gentle waters of the River Cherwell. As you glide south from the boathouse, your chauffeur will ease the punt along the riverbank, giving you uninterrupted views of Oxford’s beautiful Botanic Gardens — the oldest in the UK — with their iconic glasshouses and carefully tended plant collections. Continuing downstream, you’ll drift past the playing fields of Magdalen College School and then enter the peaceful expanse of Christ Church Meadows. This tranquil stretch was once frequented by Lewis Carroll in the mid-19th century while he was teaching at Christ Church; it was during this time that he penned the beloved stories Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. As the river bends, you’ll pass the lush gardens of St Hilda’s College before turning back toward the boathouse, completing a gentle, picturesque loop through some of Oxford’s most historic and enchanting scenery.
