What your day looks like

Be transported back to Shakespeare’s London, discover the magic of stagecraft, and explore the iconic Globe Theatre itself as part of Shakespeare’s Globe Story & Tour. Step inside this faithful recreation of William Shakespeare’s iconic Globe theatre. Imagine it as it would have been at the centre of London’s notorious Bankside entertainment district. Throughout the year expert guides bring this extraordinary open-air theatre to life in a 50 minute guided tour, with colourful stories of the 1599 Globe, the reconstruction process in the 1990s and how the building works today as an imaginative and experimental theatre space. Take a seat ‘within this wooden ‘O’’ – listen, absorb and ask questions as the secrets of the Globe unfold. The iconic Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse in which Shakespeare worked, and for which he wrote many of his most famous plays! Expert guide-storytellers provide a fascinating 50 minute tour of the Globe Theatre auditorium, vividly recreating colourful stories of the 1599 Playhouse, the London Shakespeare would have known and the Globe reconstruction process in the 1990s. Guides will also bring the theatre to life for visitors, exploring how the ‘wooden ‘O’’ works today as an imaginative and experimental space for performance. In the new, walk-through exhibition space, you’ll be immersed in the sights, sounds, and secrets of Shakespeare’s London, travelling through over 400 years of fascinating history. A very informative and interesting view of the time period and the building. I wish we could have seen more backstage. But there was a performance preparing - which we saw and LOVED! Saw several shows in London. This was our favorite.

As a theatre nerd, we were very excited about this tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We got to hear the history of the globe and got a pass to the museum. We did not get the full tour of the globe (backstage/onstage) because the actors were getting ready for a performance (which was PHENOMENAL). We were just hoping to see more of the theater itself.

We really loved our tour of the Globe! We had been anticipating visiting this location for some time and our guide did an excellent job explaining the theater to us, from how it was constructed in its present form to its history, how it is used and more! We can't wait to attend aa performance!
