The Experience

What your day looks like

- Stonehenge First, we head straight for Stonehenge, the most popular prehistoric monument in the world. Come and marvel at the huge 40-ton Sarsens and the volcanic bluestones that were brought from the Preseli mountains over 280 miles away. Discover the mysteries that surround the slaughter stone and see the numerous earth barrows where the beaker people lie buried before heading through the Salisbury plains towards Bath. - Bath and the Cotswolds Bath, a world heritage site, is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces, and architecture. There will be plenty of time to shop and explore before we enjoy a drive through the Cotswolds. As we head north to Stratford, we drive through the heart of the Cotswolds, taking in breathtaking views of open countryside crisscrossed by dry stone walls and bustling market towns with magnificent perpendicular churches. - Stratford-upon-Avon Birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the English language, and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company. Stratford is a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. A delightful river winds its way through the town, past the beautiful Holy Trinity church, where Shakespeare lies buried. Shakespeare's School was built in the 15th century, and young William was taught in this very room in the 1570s. We will include a school lesson!

Too much time in Stonehenge, not enough time in Bath. We got to Stratford on Avon and since we weren't going to the Shakespeare part it was 4 hours of driving for nothing. Most of the shops were closed by the time we got there. Should have just gone to the first 2 places.

Great tour but very long day! Steve our guide was fantastic…funny, knowledgeable and engaging. The “Cotswalds” piece is the tour is a bit of a let down because we just drive through some of it and the tour doesn’t allow time to stop. The stop in Bath was also incredibly short, especially when it’s also your lunch stop so very little time to shop. Stonehenge was fantastic with ample time there and the schoolhouse in Stratford was amazing to see. We get there late so most shops were already closed when we arrived. Good way to get a glimpse of what you want to go back and see but expect a long and hectic day.

This tour was one of the best tours we took during our trip. Our guide Alan was amazing with a great sense of humor and lots of information to share. The only downside was not being able to see the Roman baths because tickets were sold out so plan ahead if you want to see them!

This was a lovely day. Very informative guide in Anna Maria and our bus driver Ali. The countryside was beautiful and we were treated to the long history of the area. Our guide was very engaging and concerned that we had a deep understanding of the past and present as our day unfolded.
