What your day looks like
Learn about the three faiths that shaped medieval Cairo with visits to a church, synagogue, and mosque. Visit Cairo’s religious landmarks on a half-day tour of the city’s most important Coptic, Islamic, and Jewish places. Discover how the Christian Holy Family took shelter on the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, explore the Church of Saint Barbara, and see the gilded icons that adorn the Hanging Church. Enter a synagogue built where baby Moses was found. Enjoy visiting the largest citadel in the world and walk into the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Have a chance to visit the brilliant Islamic monument of Sultan Hassan Madrasa. Touch the real Egyptian life and enjoy the atmosphere at Khan Al Khalili Bazaars. Door-to-door transport by an air-conditioned car and lunch at a local restaurant are included but beverages are not included.

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
Egypt Gift Tours Egyptology guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza on time. Drive to Old Cairo which is also known as Christian Coptic Cairo which is among the most important locations visited by the Holy Family; where the spiritual impact of their presence is still felt. The first stop will be the Hanging Church, named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, which is one of the oldest churches in the world. Then you will get inside the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, where you will learn more about the birth of Moses and Hebrew Culture and tradition. Enter the Church of Abu Sergah (St. Sergious), the whole area of the Fort of Babylon, a destination of pilgrimage not only for the Egyptians but for Christians from around the world. Also there you will have a chance to visit St. Barbara Church. Then, we continued our day tour to Islamic Cairo which was founded in 641 A.D by the First Muslim leader Amr Ibn Elas. Over there in Islamic Cairo, you will be able to visit and enter some of the mosques such as; Amr Ibn Elaas Mosque, which is the very first mosque built in Egypt. Enjoy an amazing tour inside one of the largest mosques in Egypt (Sultan Hassan Mosque). Continue, towards the Citadel of Salah El Din, built on the famous hill AlMoqattam in Cairo, which was constructed for military purposes, to protect Cairo from incoming threats. Since then, it has become a residence of the king of Egypt for many centuries. Step inside the beautiful Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali; built inside the castle in the 19th century. Take special photos from the Citadel panorama. The political event called “Massacre of the Citadel” happened in the Citadel in 1811, where Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) murdered Mameluke leaders in Qaser El Gawhara palace, and it’s not currently open for visits. Cairo’s Khan al-Khalili Bazaar is a major souq in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. The bazaar district is one of Cairo’s main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike. It is an essential Egyptian experience – lose yourself in the colors and aromas of this fascinating marketplace. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
