Antisana Reserve Expedition: Birds & Breathtaking Landscapes
What your day looks like
Antisana (5704m) is the 4th highest volcano of the Andes, located 50 kilometers southeast of Quito. This impressive volcano is covered with glaciers and snow, and you will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the jagged rocky peaks and the vast sweep of paramo vegetation above the tree line. The massive glacial moraine, lava flows, and walls of huge cliffs form a stunning sight. Birdlife and flora are also very interesting in the reserve – if lucky, you may even spot a condor as this is an important breeding zone for this majestic bird. You will enjoy an incredible hike through the paramo and observe the typical flora of the high-altitude grasslands, among which are beautiful endemic flowers.

What travelers are saying
We had a great time on our tour. Our guide Jose was great. We were able to see Antisana Volcano from a bit of height following a short hike. We got to see a giant hummingbird at the restaurant.
