Day 1
Quito
Transportation. Arrival in Ecuador ¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to Ecuador! Upon arrival, your private driver will be waiting at the airport to greet you and provide a warm welcome. You will then enjoy a comfortable 45-minute private transfer to your hotel, where you can check in, unwind, and rest after your journey.

Day 2

City/Town Tour at Compania de Jesus, Quito. City Tour Quito & Middle of The World Monument Your English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel to begin an enriching morning walking tour through Quito, a city where history, culture, and daily life blend seamlessly. As you stroll through the historic center—recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978—you will admire its extraordinary colonial architecture and vibrant plazas. Highlights include Plaza Grande, the exquisitely decorated La Compañía Church, the imposing La Basílica, and La Ronda, the city’s oldest street, renowned for its traditional atmosphere. In the afternoon, you will travel approximately 26 km (16 miles) north of Quito to visit the iconic Mitad del Mundo. Here, you will experience the unique sensation of standing on the equatorial line, at the point identified by French scientists in the 18th century. Ecuador’s location on the equator offers a truly singular experience, allowing you to stand simultaneously in both hemispheres. The complex features engaging attractions such as a planetarium, ethnographic and art exhibits, a scale model of Quito, a historic train station, and more—making this visit a memorable immersion into the country’s scientific heritage, culture, and identity.

Day 3
Puerto Francisco de Orellana
Wildlife & Eco Tourism at Yasuni National Park. Airport Quito - flight to Coca - Arrival at Yasuni National Park After a scenic 30-minute flight over the eastern Andes, we arrive in the city of Puerto Francisco de Orellana (El Coca). A short private transfer takes us to our dock, where you can take a short break, use the facilities, enjoy a refreshing drink, and receive a boxed lunch for the journey. We then begin a two-hour boat ride along the Napo River to the Napo Wildlife Center welcome area. From there, we continue by rowing a canoe through a peaceful, narrow creek, surrounded by rainforest, until reaching the lodge beside a beautiful lagoon. Along the way, there may be opportunities to spot monkeys and birds such as toucans, parrots, and macaws. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink and snacks, followed by a brief orientation about your stay. You will then be guided to your room overlooking the jungle. In the evening, your guide will explain the activities planned for the coming days and the special access to Yasuní National Park through this community-managed project.

Day 4
Quito
Canoeing at Yasuni National Park. Visit the Parrot Salt Licks & Kichwa Interpretation Center & The day starts early with a visit to one of the most accessible parrot salt licks in Ecuador, located about an hour and a half from the lodge. Arriving just in time for the morning activity, you may observe up to five species of parrots, parakeets, and macaws, including blue-headed and orange-cheeked parrots, yellow-crowned parrots, dusky-headed parakeets, and white-eyed parakeets. We then follow a forest trail to the Kichwa Interpretation Center “Kuri Muyu,” managed by women from the local community. Here, guests learn about Kichwa culture, music, traditions, and the traditional use of natural resources, with time to visit the craft shop and support local artisans. The excursion continues through the terra firme forest to a second salt lick, where, weather permitting, there may be opportunities to spot additional bird and mammal species. After lunch, we return to the lodge by canoe along the main creek, enjoying more wildlife viewing along the way. Dinner is served at the lodge in the evening.

Day 5
Quito
Canoeing at Yasuni National Park. Observation Tower & Canoe Ride After breakfast, we embark on an early walk to a 36-meter observation tower located near the Napo River, offering panoramic views of the rainforest canopy. From the top, you may spot colorful birds such as tanagers, macaws, and toucans, as well as monkeys active in the early morning. After lunch, we explore the terra firme forest in search of wildlife, including the endemic Golden-mantled Tamarin. The afternoon continues with a canoe ride through nearby lakes and streams, with the possibility of seeing giant otters. In the evening, a guided night walk reveals insects, amphibians, reptiles, and nocturnal monkeys, completing a full day of Amazon exploration.

Day 6
Quito
Hiking at Yasuni National Park. Hike in the Jungle This morning, we explore designated trails through terra firme and swamp forests in search of wildlife. Along the way, you may spot species such as golden-mantled tamarins, capuchin monkeys, sloths, and squirrel monkeys. After the hike, we return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax. In the afternoon, we head out by rowing canoe to explore quieter streams and remote areas, offering more opportunities for wildlife viewing and a deeper connection with the Amazon’s ecosystems. The day ends with time to enjoy the lodge and its peaceful rainforest surroundings.

Day 7
Quito
Transportation at Yasuni National Park. Return to civilization We depart early by canoe, enjoying the peaceful morning sounds along the Añangu stream as the sunrise lights up the surroundings. We then transfer to a motorized boat for the journey back to Coca. Upon arrival, we check in for our return flight to Quito, with flight details provided according to the airline’s schedule.

What to Bring
- Flexibility is the key to the success of every tour. The safety of our passengers is our top priority. -This itinerary is a general reference and may be adjusted due to weather conditions, operational needs, guest and staff safety, Yasuní National Park regulations, or guest interests. Changes may also be made to enhance wildlife viewing, cultural experiences, and the overall experience. - Please take plastic bags, to protect your documents, a headlight because at night it becomes very dark, and a refill bottle of water. - Optional Binoculars (10×40 are much better). - Travel and medical insurance.
Restrictions
Is Jungle not recommended for kids under 7 years? The trips may be taken by anyone in good physical condition. Some itineraries require hiking over irregular terrain on challenging trails. Running, hiking, swimming, and aerobics are all good forms of conditioning. Please contact us if you have any questions about your ability to do a particular trip.
