Guided Full Day Samana Experience From Punta Cana With Lunch

Feedback from my client: Samaná was BEAUTIFUL. We loved all of the things we did and the new places we got to see while on the excursion, however the transportation and overall communication while on the excursion was subpar and inefficient. We knew that it was going to be a very long day, and that was okay. We were told we would be picked up at 6:30am and that the tour would be 12 hours in duration. We were picked up at 6:45a (no big deal, 15 minutes late is okay), and taken to our first stop where we were to check-in and have “breakfast” that we were told would be a quick 10 minute stop. Breakfast consisted of a 3 oz cup of coffee and mini muffins, which they ran out of before we made it to the front of the line. In hindsight, we should have gotten something from the buffet at the resort and brought with us however, the buffet didn’t open until 7am so we would have had to grab something the night before. Our 10 minute stop ended up being about 45 minutes while we waited for more people to be dropped off for us to finally begin the tour. The bus ride was quite scenic as we traveled north. It was a nice way to see a different part of the island that we otherwise would have had no idea existed being within the walls of the resort. After about a 30 minute restroom/snack-for-purchase break, we were back on the road to the boat. We then loaded onto the boat for the next stop at “Bacardi Island”. Here we had a prepared hot lunch while also enjoying the beautiful beach and clear blue water of the Samana Bay. The food here was actually quite good. After about an hour and a half on the island we loaded back on the boat and headed to Samana for the jeep ride to the ranch. Arriving at the ranch was overwhelming. There was absolutely no organization or direction on what we needed to do in order to get our horse to get to the waterfall, however once we were in our saddles, the experience alone was unbelievable. Riding through the forest/jungle, seeing the plant life and waterfall was like nothing I had done before. I imagine the water runs pretty heavily regardless, but we had some heavy rain come through a day or two prior to our tour so the waterfall was flowing at full force. We could swim at the falls, which was a great relief from the heat and humidity. Upon arriving back at the ranch, we eventually loaded back onto the Jeeps so that we could leave, or thats what we thought. Apparently one of the 3 jeeps we took to the ranch had left so we then had to wait another 30-40 minutes for a new jeep to transfer our entire group. Again, just another example of inefficient and poor communication. Finally we headed back down the mountain to the boat, and eventually to the bus for transfer back to our hotel. Overall, we waited a total of about 3 additional hours than we expected to just because of people not knowing whats going on. We anticipated being back to the hotel around 6:30pm, but ended up not arriving back to the hotel until 9:15pm.
