What travelers are saying
Saona Island is beautiful. Great excursion but too many people. The speed boat ride to the island was snug. There was not enough seating for the amount of people. Snorkels were not provided for the snorkeling portion of the trip and they only had around 10 goggles for the entire group of around 40 people. We were given 10 minutes to snorkel. When we arrived on the Island the massage personal were touching people without consent. It was an uncomfortable situation. The Catamaran portion of the tour got out of hand quickly. This was not suitable for families. My guests were stepped on repeatedly by dancing guests. The crew never stepped in to address the issue.
For a 12 hour excursion be prepared to spend some time on a bus. Our initial transport took us to a gas station to wait on a tour bus that would take us to the boat. The bus ride was close to an hour long. Our time on the island was limited as we had 2 other stops to get out of the boat to get in and swim. We enjoyed it but would chose another option with less transport time.
