Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Ditch your guidebook with glossy picture-perfect images and come out with us and take in Copenhagen in high resolution with a native Copenhagener by your side on this short, immersive, and fairytale-dusted experience of Copenhagen’s biggest sights. So if you want to visit those unmissable Copenhagen sights and have a fun and interesting dose of insights from a local perspective, then this tour is for you! After all, these are the stories that have helped to shape the people who live in this gorgeous city, so why not learn directly from them? The experience will kick off at Toldboden, one of Copenhagen’s most historic places, where you can grab a cup of coffee at your own expense (just remember to get to the meeting point 10 minutes before the meeting time). From here, we’ll take you through some of the older parts of Copenhagen’s historical center, through some of Copenhagen’s most famous and important sites. At the beginning of the tour, your guide will enthrall you with tales about Copenhagen and Denmark’s rise and demise throughout its more than 1,000-year-long history. As you get to tune in, we’ll be heading through the park that commemorates the heroes of the 2nd World War before encountering the Gefion fountain that shows where Copenhagen, or at least the land where it’s located, is said to have originated (hint: It’s something we Danes consider a very dark place!). This will take us a little bit further out, where you’ll be able to take in some of Copenhagen’s magical fairytale dust as you say hi to The Little Mermaid and hear why everything is not at all what it seems with her. With our magical fairytale levels at a maximum, we’ll be getting to the real-life fairytale of the Danish royalty. Hear secret insider stories about the Royal Guards and awe-inspiring tales about the royals at Amalienborg — the Royal Palace — that only those who have been in the guard know about. Here you’ll even get to play a little game about where the current head of the royal family, Daisy, lives. Next, we’ll be walking through the picturesque harbor canal, New Harbor (or Nyhavn as we call it in Copenhagen), where we’ll be taking in the view from a special point of view that for sure will surely make all your social media followers your friends, or family back home jealous. Please don’t hesitate to ask your guide to assist in capturing that picture-perfect image of this iconic image from this good-looking city, while you get to hear about the harbor’s colorful and somewhat charming history. With an appetite for more, you’ll head across one of Copenhagen’s most famous squares before stretching your neck all the way back to admire the spire of one of Copenhagen’s oldest churches. Here, we will end the tour at a beautiful square, which is located right next to the main pedestrian street, right in the heart of Copenhagen. So put on your best walking shoes, bring your camera, and get ready for a lot of fun, Copenhagen-style! Before you leave the tour, don’t forget to ask your guide for tips on what else to see, do, and eat in our awesome city. We would be happy to help!
