Do you know that Dubrovnik was protected by both defensive fortifications and the diplomatic skills of its leaders? This historic walk will focus on the defensive and political challenges faced by Dubrovnik in its struggle to survive as a tiny (yet prosperous) independent republic facing serious threats from powerful and dangerous enemies. Over the centuries, the leaders and the walls of Dubrovnik both held firm. This tour is a bit steep due to all the stairs on the city walls and therefore not suitable for everyone. It is also not suitable for pregnant women and there are no planned bathroom breaks in this 2-hour tour. Intrigued by our rivals, enemies, conflicts, and wars? Then this is a perfect tour for you! Entrance ticket is 40 Eur per person and NOT included in tour price. Can be purchased on spot, or you can use your Dubrovnik Pass to enter the walls once.

Alternatively, you can buy this ticket from the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities's website in advance or use your Dubrovnik Pass for 1 free entrance to the city walls. Children aged 7-18 pay 15 Eur each. - Gratuities

Meeting & Pickup
Meeting point for all our tours is right by PILE bus stop/taxi drop-off point and right next to the only newsstand in this area. Super easy to find as Pile is the last stop for all city buses, taxis when heading towards the pedestrian old town. The address is Brsalje 8. Dubrovnik Walks representatives & orange umbrella are all there!
