Though she loves traveling, hosting guests allows her to meet people from around the world, exchange stories, and share the experience of a home-cooked meal. Lidija is excited to invite travelers into her home to give them a glimpse of local life and cuisine, making every visit a memorable cultural exchange. When asked why she enjoys being a Traveling Spoon host, she says: “I like meeting new people and hearing their stories. I especially like cooking for them and seeing that they liked what I prepared.” In-Home Dining Experience: Lidija’s centrally located apartment offers stunning views of Zagreb, just a 10-minute walk from the main square. Her cooking combines her mother’s northern Croatian roots and her father’s southern coastal traditions, blending Mediterranean and regional flavors. She uses traditional cooking techniques and family recipes, alongside fresh, seasonal produce from her own garden, to craft authentic Croatian meals. Lidija customizes menus to suit preferences, featuring dishes like seasonal salads, meat or fish mains, and homemade desserts, creating a truly personal and authentic culinary experience.
