The Experience

What your day looks like

The Chocolate Tour will take you on a fascinating journey through time, from the origins of cacao in the tropical regions of the Americas to its transformation into the beloved delicacy we know today. Considered “a gift from the gods”, the cacao tree has played a crucial role in culture, both for its ceremonial uses and its economic value, even being used as currency in various regions of Mesoamerica. During a 1.5-hour guided walk through the plantation, you will discover the most interesting aspects of cacao and chocolate, from their origins to their historical, cultural, and economic significance for Costa Rica. Participants will have the opportunity to take an active part in every stage of the production process, from caring for the plantation and harvesting the fruit to drying and grinding the seeds. They will also enjoy a tasting of high-quality organic chocolate, crafted with a variety of ingredients that create a true festival of flavors on the palate. This tour is designed for all ages, from children to adults, offering an unforgettable experience that immerses visitors in the history, culture, traditions, and, of course, the delicious taste of Costa Rican chocolate.
