What travelers are saying
We were grateful to find the tour operator as described in the instructions - he was holding an appropriate sign. The driver Randy did a great job- the ride was safe and comfortable. The guide Fiorera spoke loud enough to hear well. We enjoyed what she told us about Limon, the country and its currency. The banana plantation was pretty amazing as we saw how the bananas were grown, harvested and transported inside the plantation. It was a wonderful tour as we saw many other plants that were discussed in detail. The canal tour was a bit underwhelming even though we did see some howler monkeys, sloths and many different birds - still fun and we were given a treat of fresh fruit. I guess we were just disappointed we didn't see any turtles. Water level too high to see crocodiles. I would highly recommend this tour.
This was the best excursion of our 7 port Carnival Journeys. Costa Rico is beautiful. We had a energetic and knowledgeable guide, and she spoke English well. Van was comfortable with a good air conditioner. Hike was great and the Eco Canal was great. It's all about experiencing nature in Costa Rica. Our ship arrived a 6AM local time ... earlier than locals expected. The excursion team adapted and we did end up leaving earlier than expected. We got back to port an hour before all aboard.
