What your day looks like
Enjoy a full-day adventure tour in the Central Caribe region of Costa Rica for the entire family. This beginner whitewater rafting section of the mighty Pacuare River is ideal for ages 8 so everyone can experience the beauty of rafting in Costa Rica! Lots of gentle paddling with pools for resting and observing the abundant tropical birds in their natural habitat. This Class II+ section on the Reventazón River will provide you with the thrill of rafting, get you wet but keep you safely in your boat as we paddle together on the wide-open waters of the river through small waves with a little maneuvering. This is an easy day trip if you’re staying in San Jose or the Caribbean areas of Costa Rica.

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
After an early morning pickup from your San Jose hotel, you will drive by private, comfortable bus to Typical Restaurant for a delicious, typical Costa Rican breakfast. After breakfast and changing into rafting gear, we will drive to our rafting put-in on the banks of the Reventazón River. After paddling and safety orientation, you’ll head down the river, where this Class II+ section on the Reventazón River will provide you with the thrill of rafting, get you wet, but keep you safe in your boat. We paddle together on the wide-open waters of the river through small waves with a little maneuvering. As you progress downriver, the pools become longer where you can rest and observe a number of birds in their tropical habitat. We will be on the river between 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on water levels and taking out at the banana plantations. Return r for lunch.

Restrictions
This tour will be run with the same equipment and safety regulations as we use on our Class III and above tours. The rapids for Class II+ have very little inherent risk and allow us to invite participants from 8 years old and up. Class I-II rafting: Easy rapids with waves up to three feet, and wide, clear channels that are obvious without scouting. Some maneuvering is required. Anyone in normal healthy physical condition. Swimming experience is required.
