Natwell Pack: Volcano Hike + Fortuna Waterfall
What your day looks like
Begin your tour with a walk along the 1968 Trail, located in the northwest region of the iconic Arenal Volcano. Explore the trails formed by the lava expelled during the 1968 eruption and walk through areas of regenerating forest full of life and contrast. Along the way, your naturalist guide will provide interesting information about the volcano’s history, geological processes, and the local flora and fauna. You will also enjoy panoramic views of Lake Arenal and volcanic rock formations. Next, stop at the breathtaking La Fortuna Waterfall, one of Costa Rica’s most iconic natural wonders. Descend approximately 500 steps through lush tropical forest to reach the base of this 70-meter (230 feet) cascade, where you can swim in its crystalline pool and feel the powerful connection to nature. Afterwards, your adventure continues at La Finquita Farm, where you will enjoy a delicious farm-to-table lunch that highlights the flavors of healthy, conscious eating.
