Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

After a 35-minute drive, we will arrive at a beautiful area designated for reforestation. The land belongs to our company and is in the mountains surrounding the Children’s Eternal Rainforest. Here, we will take short walk to appreciate the beauties of the rainforest of this region. Next, we will each plant a tree in an area designated for this purpose. Afterwards, we will visit the San Jorge one room schoolhouse to interact with the students. (Only school days, activity not guaranteed). To recharge your batteries, a delicious snack of fresh fruit will await you at the end of the visit. After our snack, we will take another short drive to La Tigra and the home and agroecological farm of the Mendez family. We will learn about the day to day life of this traditional farm family, their customs, traditions, and their sustainable ways of maintaining their property. We will take a tour of the property, to visit the farm’s plantations of pepper, vanilla, yucca, coffee, banana, corn, and more. Lastly, we will enjoy a delicious lunch with the authentic flavor of Costa Rica and farm-fresh ingredients. After lunch, we will return La Fortuna by late afternoon.
