The Experience
What your day looks like
This adventure will take you to Costa Rica’s biggest lake, Lake Arenal. The lake was created after a hydroelectric dam was built in 1974, and the Lake has since been a iconic feature at the foot of Arenal Volcano. We will take you on a short drive to reach the lake. Once there, our team will quickly suit you up with a life jacket and a paddle, and give you a brief explanation of basic kayaking techniques. After getting settled, our tour will start the paddle across the lake. You will have a chance to observe different species of birds like “Flycatchers”, “Kingfishers”, “Great Blue Herons” and “Anhingas” - you may even hear the Howler Monkeys! Throughout the trip, take some time to enjoy the beautiful landscape, have a refreshing swim in the lake and have lots of fun!

We do hotel pickups but you can also meet at our office in La Fortuna, San Carlos. If you are staying in the town of La Fortuna please let us know the name of your hotel at checkout. The price of the tour is from Fortuna, hotels far from that area might have an additional charge.
