Isla Tortuga is famous for its Caribbean-like white sand beach and transparent turquoise water. Just off the beach, you’ll find some volcanic rocks excellent for snorkeling. This island is located in the Gulf of Nicoya, just outside of Paquera.

Our full day tour with Bahia Rica to Isla Tortuga with snorkeling was amazing! Chato was absolutely fantastic! He was very helpful in showing/finding us the monekys on Moneky Island, finding us a calmer & less windy location to snorkel, and even found us a baby humpback to watch for over 10 minutes. We loved that he kept a respectful distance from the baby humpback though and didn't drive the boat up close to it like we saw other boats do. Chato was very respectful and conscientious of the wildlife. Isabella made us a delicious lunch on Isla Tortuga and her brownies were incredible. We would definitely recommend Project Expedition, Bahia Rica and Chato and use them again if we come back to the Paquera area. Friendly, helpful, easy to communicate with, and respectful of the wildlife!

Amazing Day. Juan told us so much about the peninsula, found great spots less crowed for snorkeling and came with us to show us baby sharks, lobsters and amazing fish we would not have spotted ourselves. The food on the island was excellent. A great day in great company ????

This tour was amazing and the highlight of out time in Paquera! Our tour guide was amazing and took great care of us and got us into some great snorkeling spots. The area on the island for Bahia Rica was a really cool spot in the trees. Overall an amazing experience!
