Ecocenter Danaus Night Walk

What your day looks like

Located just minutes outside of La Fortuna, we find Ecocentro Danaus. This biological reserve has been designated for the natural regeneration of its ecosystem, which has resulted in the arrival of many different plant and animal species. We will begin our night hike at 6 pm, deep in this secondary rainforest on a safe and easy trail, appropriate for people of all ages and physical conditions. We will observe the different animal species as they end their day’s activities and others as they awake at nightfall to begin their activity, such as bats, frogs, sloths, lizards, armadillos and several species of birds. We will also be able to observe the night activity of the butterflies located in their small butterfly gardens, visit the frog reproduction area, where we will observe 5 different species in just one area. Finally we will observe the nocturnal activity of the natural lake, inhabited by nocturnal birds, such as the Boat Billed Heron (Cochlearius) characterized by its large spoon shaped bill, as well as others of the lake’s inhabitants like the caiman and snapping turtle. Once we have completed the tour the transportation will return you to your hotel, full of magnificent memories of this unforgettable experience.
