With the view of the majestic Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, enjoy the sweetest rainforest experience, discovering the ancient secrets of chocolate; from its discovery and use in tropical America to the processing of the product as we know it and enjoy it today. In this 2-hour “hands on” program, you will have the opportunity to learn interesting aspects of cocoa and chocolate from its origin and history, participate in the production process from the harvesting of the fruit, to the drying and grinding of the seed. Also take part in making the traditional drink of our ancestors, and of course enjoy a high quality organic chocolate! Once we get enough chocolate energy, we’ll drive to La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve, where over 4,000 ml precipitation a year give you the chance to enjoy this majestic 210 feet high fall. A five hundred meter downhill hike will give you the chance to see it from the very bottom where a “natural pool” awaits if you want to swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river.
