The journey, in full
There is no greater attraction in the northern region of Costa Rica than the Arenal Volcano. So why not enjoy it in the most picturesque way possible? This tour combines an attractive boat ride in the Arenal Lake with a hike through the National Park, and provides you with impressive views of this mighty wonder. The tour begins with a short 20 minute ride to the Arenal Lake dam, where we will board our boat for the ride along the edges of this enormous man-made lake, allowing us to observe the rainforest, islands, aquatic birds and some of the animals which make this area their home. This is the best possible place to take incredible pictures of the Arenal Volcano, if the clouds permit. Along the ride, the naturalist guide will explain the importance of this hydroelectric dam to the economy of Costa Rica. After 1 hour on the boat, we will arrive at the Peninsula of the National Park to begin a 1 km (0.62 miles) walk. This is the best trail of the Park for spotting wildlife, because it is the least transited. At the end of the trail, we will serve you a fresh tropical fruit buffet, and then our van will be waiting to take us to the Park’s observation point to get a closer look at the volcano and to receive a complete explanation of the history, active cycles, and geological formation of this colossal. At the end enjoy a couple of hours at Paradise Hot Springs with lunch or dinner included.
