3-in-1 Arenal Hanging Bridges, Volcano Hike & Fortuna Waterfall

What your day looks like

Start your day as you hike across the Arenal Hanging Bridges and see the jungle from high above the forest floor. This series of hanging bridges are connected throughout the park offering magnificent views of the mountains, rainforest, and wildlife. Your naturalist guide will teach you about Costa Rican culture, history, and nature while pointing out different species of plants, animals, and birds along the way. We’ll head to the ground level to hike through the well-groomed jungle trails that skirt the base of the Arenal Volcano. Classified as active, it's not throwing lava anymore, but past eruptions have left the lava trails where you will be walking around behind. The trails are generally flat and not very strenuous perfect for a leisurely and informative hike with one of our naturalist guides! To get to the magnificent waters of the waterfall a 20-minute hike down 500 stairs is required. Don't panic! You will be with your guide overlooking the beauty of the canyon that opens in front of you and you will go slow, at your own pace. Once you reach the ground, take some time to feel immersed in nature and meditate on the peaceful environment. Jump into the water, explore, swim, and have a great time before heading back up on the same trail. Please note guests will have the option to stay up at the main facilities instead of making the trek up and down the stairs to swim. There is a restaurant to have a drink, bathrooms and changing rooms, and a nice observatory so you can look down to the waterfall and wait for the group to come back up for lunch. After a nice hike and swim at the waterfall, The family will be waiting for you with the perfect lunch to recover the energy! They will serve a really tasteful traditional lunch, cooked with local farm and organic ingredients and giving it the loving touch for what will be the best meal you will have while in Costa Rica! Sharing some time at the family ranch and sharing lunch with them, is a good way to make new friends and learn about our culture. After a homemade cup of coffee and relaxing by the sounds of the water running from the river is time to go back to your hotel in Arenal or La Fortuna.
