What travelers are saying
AMAZING! Coolest “adventure” excursion we’ve ever done! The team at PureTrek were all great guides and the rappels they have set up are adrenaline filled and beautiful. Rappel down a waterfall??? Not many places offer such a unique experience. Don’t hesitate to book this super cool excursion.
The canyoning was great fun and the guides were very helpful. Food was also good. We just spent too much time driving between locations.
What a blast! Highly recommend! You will get wet from helmet to shoes, and walk over rocky and muddy terrain between waterfalls. For shoes, I wore closed-toed Keeva sandals and they were perfect for the job. If you wear glasses, put them on a tether to keep them secure. I also brought a small microfiber cloth that I kept in a waterproof pouch around my neck so I could dry them, and that worked beautifully.
Everything was wonderful!!
What a rush! Once you finally get to your first rappel, you'll have your guide attach you to a safety line, remind you of how to rappel and you step over the edge! From there, remember to smile and look up a few times to get a great picture. Also you'll get wet, so bring a change of clothes. 4x4 ride is a little bit of a stretch. It's just a truck with open air seating in the back to go down the last stretch of potholed gravel road. Lunch was very good and seemed like a typical Costa Rican meal complete with rice, beans and fruit. Overall tour was exactly what I expected and was run very well, hence the 5 star review.
The experience was fantastic, though we definitely felt lucky to be in a group of only 8 people - it would not have been as fun in a group of 20+. our guide - Mairon - was excellent
