Private Guatapé Town Tour & Top of The Rock of El Peñol
What your day looks like
During this Guatapé Tour out of Medellín, you will visit one of the most unique pueblos in Colombia where the beautiful views from the top of the Rock of El Peñol make this a must-see tourist destination. Enjoy colorful farmland in the proximity of El Peñol as a mouth-opener to wonderful views that you will get from the Rock. Climbing the 700+ stairs to the top of the 220-meter high rock offers 360-degree breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. But if you're not into climbing stairs, we can spend extra time exploring the colorfully painted facades (zócalos) of Guatapé's houses and walking along the waterfront in town. As an optional activity and at an additional cost, we can include a boat ride around the lake that takes us past vacation houses of famous and infamous Colombian celebrities.

What travelers are saying
Andres was spectacular which is the only reason I would give it a 3 star. He was super knowledgable and wonderful to hang out with all day. Guatape is a cute little town with beautiful history. The Penol rock was they main thing we were excited to see and we were really disappointed. I felt like we went into a fairground with lights, huge signs and loud music. Then you climb about 700 steps and more booths, signs and loud music. It made me so sad to see how the natural beauty has been ruined. The most beautiful spot was looking out from the parking lot, unfortunately. There was no boat ride offer either, which would have been nice. Lastly, I felt that Project Expedition could have done a better job at giving us more details about what to expect and bring on our voucher/ tickets. We should have been told to make arrangements for a meal. We are so grateful Andres accommodated us. He took us to a delicious lunch and coffee spot afterwards.
My clients had a great time on this memorable day trip from Medellin. The parents and children all enjoyed the experience. Thank you, LandVenture Travel!
