For the family, and those seeking a milder river experience, the Gentle is ideal! It is the perfect introduction to whitewater rafting combined with tranquil float sections and stunning Rocky Mountain scenery. Six excellent rapids, from Class I to III, splash and soak rafters during the 1 ½ hour journey. ‘Alarm Clock’ rapid (sure to wake everyone up!) is just moments after pushing off from shore, and ‘Hopi’s Hole’ will dowse the crew. Marvel at the scenery while your highly qualified guide shares tales of the area, its early explorers, what they searched for . . . and what they found! The Gentle, as with all our trips, meets at our RiverBase Daylodge, located conveniently on the TransCanada Highway, near Banff and Lake Louise. It's easy to find us with our downloadable self-drive map of the Banff area and there is plenty of secure parking on site, too. At the River Base, our crew of river rafting professionals, or “guides”, help outfit everyone properly with clean and DRY rafting gear, deliver an easy-to-understand safety briefing, and show how to properly sit on the raft and paddle your paddle. At trip’s end, change back into dry clothes and let adrenalin levels return to normal. Enjoy hot & cold beverages with your guides on our spacious deck overlooking the Kicking Horse River.
