Victoria Harbour Sunset Kayak Tour
What your day looks like
Watch the sun set over Victoria Harbour on a 3-hour evening kayak trip in Victoria that includes a short paddling lesson and all kayak equipment. Watch for bald eagles, seals, and other wildlife as you follow an experienced kayak guide along the shoreline, passing the historic landmarks of downtown Victoria, Victoria’s shipyards, and the reversing falls under Tillicum Bridge. This small-group kayak tour is limited to six participants for individual attention from the guide.
The experience, in brief
- 3hour sunset kayak tour with instruction and equipment included
- Wildlife viewing and enjoying the beauty and history of Victoria landmarks
- Smallgroup experience led by an expert guide (max 6)
The journey, in full
Make your way to a meet-up point in downtown Victoria 15 minutes prior to your departure time, then meet a kayak guide to go over the evening’s itinerary and learn the basics of kayak safety and techniques. Choose a single or double kayak for this 3-hour paddle tour, and launch your boat in the calm water of Victoria Harbour. The guide will set a leisurely pace, pointing out Victoria landmarks and neighbourhoods along the way. Spot seaplanes landing along the coast, along with Victoria Harbour’s bustling traffic of fishing boats, whale-watching cruises, tug boats, and barges. You’ll have the perfect vantage point to see the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, downtown Victoria homes, and the elegant Fairmont Empress hotel, as sunset colors begin to illuminate the city. Depending on the day’s conditions, your group may follow the calm Gorge Waterway, or take advantage of calm weather to venture out farther into Victoria Harbour. At the end of your time on the water, paddle back to base camp in downtown Victoria, where this 3-hour kayak tour concludes.
