Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Montreal's chinatown is tiny but has so many gems packed in and a rich history. We start in Place d'armes in Old Montreal so we can bring people into a larger historical context of Montreal before hitting up Chinatown. Our first stop is a water garden oasis hidden away. We move on to a hidden market where people can shop. Our next stop is a bahn-mi. Just prior we talk about waves of immigration and different groups in Chinatown. We also make a stop at a tea shop. Then we enter the heavy eating: dim sum followed by a place specialized in the cooking of Szechuan, Hunan and Dongbei. We finish with a handmade chinese candy, a cantonese bakery for bubble tea or a pastry and then we have a fortune cookie and finish with a bit more about Chinatown. This tour is full of eating and history. It is truly enjoyable, the walking is light and the atmosphere of Chinatown teemed with all of the spots hidden away that you will discover make for a truly memorable experience.
