All trips meet at our River Base Daylodge, located conveniently on the TransCanada Highway, halfway between the towns of Field and Golden, BC. It's easy to find us with our downloadable self-drive map of the Banff area and there is plenty of secure parking on site, too. At the River Base, our team of river rafting professionals, or “guides”, help outfit everyone properly with clean and DRY top-quality rafting gear, deliver an easy-to-understand safety briefing, and show how to properly sit on the raft and paddle your paddle. Rafters will experience over 14 sets of named rapids during 1 ½ hours of fun on the river, ranging from Class II (easy, fun) to Class IV (very splashy, challenging and wet!). There is plenty of fast-moving water and smaller waves to enjoy as well while rafting through spectacular scenery and past towering canyon walls. Rapids, such as ‘Roller Coaster’, ‘Hopi’s Hole’, ‘Goat Rapid’ and ‘Twin Peaks’ are certain to leave a big smile on your face. The most famous rapids known throughout the area are ‘Portage’ and ‘Shotgun’. Long, continuous, quick and tricky, this section of river is, without question, the most popular and memorable section of true class IV to IV+ rafting in the Rocky Mountain area. Don’t miss it! The whole trip, from ‘Hello to Good-bye’, takes about 3 to 3 ½ hours. At the trip’s end, change back into dry clothes and let adrenalin levels return to normal.
