What your day looks like
Learn about Brazil's rubber trade on a visit to Vila Paraíso. During this half-day tour from Manaus, see where rubber is loaded onto boats and shipped around the world. At the Rubber Museum, visit the workshops and warehouses where rubber was collected, processed and stored. Take a walk among the rubber trees to see how rubber is collected, then visit both the Rubber Master's opulent house and the modest homes of typical industry employees. On the return trip to Manus, stop at Tupé Beach to cool off with a swim (time permitting). Round trip transportation from Manaus hotels is included.

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
Leaving from the traveler's hotel in Manaus to the Rubber Museum. During our tour, visit the “large tent” where rubber making tools were kept. You will also see the “chapel” and the flour warehouse. Then walk along a short trail into the jungle to see rubber trees as well as witness the process of collecting it. You will see where rubber balls were placed to begin the smoking process. Finally, visit the modest houses where the rubber extraction employees lived. The home portrays the life and habits of the old rubber extraction era. We will return to Manaus with a brief stop at Tupé Beach where there might be a possibility of swimming. The estimated arrival time at the hotel is at 1:00 pm.
