Private Sailing Experience in Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro
What your day looks like
Our exclusive 3-hour tour is perfect for those seeking a truly private experience aboard a sailboat reserved solely for you and your group. We offer two departure options daily: Morning: The waters are typically calmer, the sun is warmer, and the light brilliantly enhances the landscape's colors. Afternoon: A perfect setting to appreciate the sunset and the charm of Guanabara Bay as evening descends. The tour is suitable for groups of 1 to 14 people. The tour begins once everyone is settled: we cast off the moorings, hoist the sails, and let the wind be our guide. The journey begins! Since wind and sea conditions are constantly changing, we do not follow a fixed itinerary—and this very freedom makes each tour special. We always seek the best angles and moments to admire the natural and historical icons of Rio de Janeiro, such as Sugarloaf Mountain; Christ the Redeemer; the beaches of Flamengo, Botafogo, and Urca; as well as Icaraí, São Francisco, the fortresses, the Historic Center, and Porto Maravilha. When conditions permit, we can also sail to the ocean beaches of Rio or Niterói, making the experience even more unforgettable. Each tour is a unique experience!

The journey, in full
Setting Sail from Marina da Glória: Your adventure begins at the prestigious Marina da Glória, where you will step aboard our vessel and meet your expert crew. As we glide out of the harbor, you’ll get a unique perspective of the city's modern architecture framed by the lush greenery of the surrounding mountains. The Guardians of the Bay: As we navigate the deep blue waters of Guanabara Bay, you will pass the historic Santa Cruz and São João fortresses, which have guarded Rio’s shores for centuries. You’ll learn about the colonial defense of the city and see the intricate stonework of these 16th-century strongholds from a vantage point few ever experience. Under the Shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain: Prepare to be awestruck as we sail directly beneath the towering granite peaks of Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain). You will discover how these iconic formations were created millions of years ago while keeping an eye out for local marine life, such as playful dolphins or the magnificent frigatebirds soaring above. The Red Beach & Historic Urca: We will cruise along the charming neighborhood of Urca and the secluded Praia Vermelha (Red Beach). You'll learn about the founding of Rio de Janeiro at this very spot in 1565 and enjoy the vibrant colors of the traditional architecture lining the shore. Atlantic Views & The Niterói Horizon: As we head toward the mouth of the bay, the horizon opens up to the vast Atlantic Ocean, offering a panoramic view of the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum—Oscar Niemeyer’s "flying saucer" masterpiece. You will learn about the revolutionary architecture that makes Rio’s skyline one of the most recognizable in the world. Relaxation & Reflections: On the return leg of your journey, you can simply relax on deck and soak in the sun as the sea breeze carries the scent of the Atlantic. Your crew will share local secrets about Rio’s maritime culture, ensuring you leave not just with photos, but with a deep connection to the history and soul of the "Marvelous City."
