Discover the UNESCO-listed Tijuca National Park and the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue! Christ Redeemer Monument, at the top of Corcovado Mountain (710m / 2330ft), is certainly Brazil’s most famous landmark, located in the first sector of the Tijuca Forest National Park. The moderate hike starts at Lage Park at the base of Corcovado Mountain, a park covered with Atlantic Rainforest, with a beautiful, imponent old mansion, and many century-old palm trees. The Christ Redeemer trail lasts around 2hs, and crosses the preserved Atlantic forest of the Tijuca National Park to one of the most beautiful views of the city from the top of the mountain! From up there the view is very rewarding and it is considered one of Rio’s most privileged belvederes.
