What your day looks like

This is a tour that will make you fall in love with our city. We will begin with a story about Bosnia and Herzegovina and its beautiful capital – Sarajevo. During this tour you will find out why Sarajevo is called European Jerusalem, learn a lot of interesting things about our city and see the most important monuments in Old Town of Sarajevo. We will see the Old Orthodox Church that is part of Sarajevo pilgrimage. We will go to the most recognizable landmark of Sarajevo - Sebilj, wooden fountain located on Baščaršija square. You will find the oldest street in Sarajevo with many amazing artworks. Our next stop would be Sarajevo City Hall - the most beautiful Austro-Hungarian-era building. From 1949 the building became the National Library. Expect to find the biggest and one of the most beautiful mosques in Sarajevo known as Gazi Husrev-bey's Mosque. Nearby the most beautiful mosque in Europe find unique Clock Tower famous by showing totally unusual time for XX century. After spot that says “Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures” listen the story of Jewish community existing in Sarajevo for almost five centuries. We will see the oldest Jewish synagogue in our city. Local guide in Sarajevo will continue in the direction of modern part of Sarajevo where you will find completely different Architectual style typical for Habsburg Monarchy. We will see imposing Cathedral and statue of Pope John Paul II who visited Bosnia two times. We will talk about Sarajevo roses. Tour finishes next to the famous Latin Bridge, Franz-Ferdinand˙s assassination site.

Starting Point – Meet Bosnia Office (Gazi Husrev-begova 75) You start the tour at Meet Bosnia office in the heart of old town. Your guide gives short introduction about Sarajevo and what you will see during the walk. 1st Stop: Old Orthodox Church and Baščaršija Square You visit the Old Orthodox Church, one of the oldest religious buildings in the city. Just next to it, you explore Baščaršija square and learn how Sarajevo developed as an Ottoman city. 2nd Stop: Morića Han and Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque Morića Han was an old caravanserai where traders stayed during Ottoman times. You also visit Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque and hear why it is the most important Islamic monument in Bosnia. 3rd Stop: Sarajevo City Hall and Jewish Museum Sarajevo City Hall shows Austro-Hungarian architecture and dramatic history of the city. You learn about Jewish life in Sarajevo through the Jewish Museum located in the Old Jewish Temple. 4th Stop: Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures and Ferhadija Street At this spot, you see where Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Sarajevo meet. Walking Ferhadija Street, you feel modern city life mixed with history. 5th Stop: Latin Bridge – Franz Ferdinand’s Assassination Site You stop at the Latin Bridge, where the assassination in 1914 changed world history. You hear how Sarajevo became the place where World War I started. Final Stop: Meet Bosnia Office & Local Tips The tour ends back at Meet Bosnia office. You receive local tips about food, coffee, museums, and places to visit after the tour.
